Sherlock Meetup: Ann Arbor - 3pm May 25

It’s been a while since we’ve had a meetup in Ann Arbor, so let’s do it again!
We are going to be having a picnic in the Arboretum (arb). We will meet at the entrance to the arboretum on Geddes (Map here) at 3pm. At 3:15 or so we will make our way down to the bottom of the hill in the park. This meetup will be largely unstructured. There will be time to get to know each other, talk about Sherlock or other fandom things, eat food and take pictures.
This meetup will go until 6pm. If you arrive late, just make your way to the bottom of the hill in the park and look for the flag of our people or the loud group of people.
Please bring: Food to share & a blanket to sit on if you want it. If you want to bring games to play that’s be great. I will bring plates and utensils for the food and maybe some tables to set up the food on.
You can RSVP for this event at the event page in our facebook group.
Cosplaying is welcome. Non fandom specific cosplay is welcome.
If you have any questions send me an ask or a message on facebook.
Sherlock Holmes Marathon - September 8th 2pm!
In honor of Martin Freeman’s Birthday, we will be watching various incarnations of Sherlock Holmes on film including: Sherlock, the Great Mouse Detective, Granada, one of those RDJ movies, Russian Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock Holmes in the 21st Century, and anything else you guys bring/recommend that I find. I will project any DVDs or files on the wall. Anything on VHS we can watch on the reasonably sized TV. There will also be time for socializing, eating food from the potluck feast we shall assemble, and other nonsense.
This meetup is at my home in West Bloomfield. We will be meeting in the parking lot in front of the Chiropractic place on the corner of Hiller and Greer (Map here) on September 8th at 2pm. From here we will shuttle to my house. To find the group, look for the flag of our people:

Please bring food or drink to share. I will provide some tea from adagio and cups/plates/etc. Please let me know what you are bring either through a message or on the facebook page. We are looking at 20-25 people being in attendance. Please bring actual food (breads or vegtables or apples or cheese or food you have cooked) we are going to be at it for 8 hours, and we will get hungry.
Everyone is welcome at this event, whether or not you have been to a meetup before.
Please bring: Food to share, pillows or blankets (some of us will have to sit on the floor. You can cosplay if you’d like.
This event will end at 10pm. If you can’t make it for the whole time or have to be late, please let me know and I will arrange to get you directions to my house.
Please note: I do have a large dog if you have allergies. She will be away from the festivities, but depending on your sensitivity it may still be a problem. Also, if you have food allergies, let me know and we’ll see if we can avoid them.
As always, you can find information about future meetups in our facebook group, and RSVP for the marathon on the event page.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or are looking for a ride, let me know.
I can’t wait to see you guys again!
Thank you guys for coming out to the second Frankenstien meetup
We had 27 people come out tonight for Frankenstien with Bendict Cumberbatch as the creature! It was good to see most of you again and meet a few new people too.
Also, a shout out to the group of ann arborites who were going to Frankenstein and jumped in on our meetup after they saw the flag of our people! Good to meet you guys!

I just really like group pictures, ok?
Upcoming meet-ups: Sometime in july I’d like to get together to film the musical, keep your eyes open on that. September 8, West Bloomfield: Sherlock movie marathon.

Michigan Sherlock Meetup: May 13 - The Hound

Our next Sherlock Meetup will be May 13th at 6pm, hosted by221bpawnee in Ann Arbor.
We will be meeting at the CVS on the corner of Carpenter Road and Packard (3090 Carpenter Rd. Map here.) We will meet in the parking lot and leave most of the cars there as she has little parking by her house. I’m going to ask people to meet here around 5:45, so that we can get the meetup started around 6. If you are late, her actual address will be posted in the facebook group.
Look for the flag of our people to identify our group.

There will be hang out/mingling/game time at the beginning. We will also be having a little bit of a potluck. Please bring some food or snacks to share. If you don’t know what to bring shoot me an ask and I’ll give you some ideas. 221bpawnee will be providing drinks. I will bring paper plates/napkins/cups.
At approximately 7:30 we are going to watch the Hound (chins) of the Baskerville. After we watch the episode we will disperse.
Please RSVP to the event on facebook or by sending me a message. Also please let us know what kind of food you will be bringing to share. Closer to the event, I will let you guys know how many people are coming so that you can plan for food amounts.
I can’t wait to see you guys again or meet some of you for the first time!
Please feel free to reblog this post to get the word out to other Michigan Sherlockians who would like to attend. Also, if anyone needs a ride, let me know and we’ll see if we can arrange one.
Next Sherlock Meetup!

I was thinking we could base our next Sherlock meetup around the airing of Sherlock on PBS.
The Hound of The Baskerville is going to be airing on May 13 at 9pm.
There are a couple ways we could do this: we could meet earlier and watch a different episode before hand and then catch the Hound on TV, we could just meet for the Hound as it airs on PBS, or we could watch the Hound from a file earlier in the day if 9pm is too late for people.
We could also throw in other activities. If you guys have any suggestions please let me know.
221bpawnee has agreed to host us for this event. She is in Ann Arbor. We will be giving out her address through the facebook group as we get closer to the event.
What do you guys think?
